Follow these simple steps to get a verified facebook page
It is key for any artist / musician to protect its name (= brand) on the internet and social networks.
Since you are a public figure there are many possibilities of someone posing as you, especially online, which could negatively affect your reputation and have terrible effects on your fan base growth.
A good start to protecting your brand is to authenticate your Facebook page.
What is a verified page?
Some pages are claimed as Official and verified by Facebook, which can be identified by a Blue Color Tick Badge just in the next of name.
Facebook only authenticate four type of pages (or profiles):
- Government Officials
- Popular Brand or Businesses
How to get verified?
- Link your Facebook page or profile to your official website, and vice versa
- Complete the About section of your profile accurately. Preferably don’t skip any sections
- Once those two steps are completed, click here to request a verified badge.
Select the page you’d like to get verified, upload a scan of your ID card or passport and stipulate the url of your official website.
It can take up to a few days for Facebook to verify the page. In case your application is rejected, do not hesitate to try again after some time (after growing your number of likes and overall engagement).
